Good news on the economy, but the unemployment rate is 10.2%. Hard to figure out what is happening, but the market seems to be moving up, at least so far.

Market looked good - afternoon sell-off was quickly reversed. The trading systems seem to be working.

I think that the new guidelines are terrible, and an insult to women.
It may simply be a way to save money at the expense of young women. No way to respect that.
I am not alone in my opinion. From the former NIH Chief:
The first female to head the National Institutes of Health said Sunday she is advising women to ignore new recommendations by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, which last week changed guidelines for mammographies from annually starting at age 40 to every other year starting at age 50.
"I'm saying very powerfully ignore them," former NIH director Dr. Bernardine Healy told "Fox News Sunday."
"This will increase the number of women dying of breast cancer. Women in their 40s have a very aggressive kind of breast cancer. They tend to progress fast. And to not screen women in that age group is astounding to me, and it goes against the bulk of individuals who are actually caring for patients. You may save some money, Chris, but you're not going to save lives," she said.

On this date in 1963, the first episode of Dr. Who was broadcast. Because of the JFK assassination on November 22, most people did not watch it, and the episode was re-played the next week. Next year Matt Smith will be the 11th Dr. Who.

Now we wait to see what will happen with the Dubai Debt. I could never figure out why anybody would want to spend huge amounts to vacation there in the first place.

Well, the market wandered around and ended up, so maybe we will not be affected much at all by Dubai.
My accounts went up this month by 6.19%. About the same as SPY (6.16%), not as good as QQQQ (6.35%) or EEM (7.85%), but better than IWM (3.12%) and EFA (3.92%). This much divergence in the averages is probably not a good thing.
