And just think - she is almost as old as I am.
In an episode of Nash Bridges, Cher played a drag queen who played Cher. Or maybe it was a drag queen playing Cher playing a drag queen. Not sure I got that one right.

Beginning a new month. Stocks go up, gold goes down. Fortunately, I have both. Still, I am very disappointed by the performance of LASPX.
November 10, 2003
So far, not a good month. I sold LAPSX and bought POGSX, which immediately went down. That is a very volatile fund, and I just hope that the volatility will be in my favor. Meanwhile, gold now looks good, but has backed off the $390/ounce level. It keeps making a run in that direction, and then it backs off.
November 11, 2003
Everything went down today. Gold was up, but the funds were down. Profit taking in the mining companies, I suppose.
November 14, 2003
So just about everything I own went up the last two days, and the U. S. market opened higher today, although it sold off almost immediately. Still, some nice moves, and what with an increase in the price of gold, I still made a little money.
November 18
Crummy market for the last 2 days. I am expecting a true sell signal if this keeps up.

The conservatives are freaking out, of course. Personally, I am glad that this has happened, but I think that the proper thing to do, if marriage is to be thought of as a religious event, is to have the state only provide civil unions; while the churches can deal with marriage in any way that they wants. Pat Robertson and the rest of the jerks will be apoplectic. Unfortunately, this will probably generate more contributions from some gullible people who can afford it least.

Woke up this morning to the news that the terrorists have bombed HSBC in Istanbul. This after synagogue bombings a few days ago. Interesting that now the terrorists scum are targeting things in a progressive Muslim country. I suppose that they want everybody to be as poor and ignorant as in places like Afghanistan.
I lightened up on EUROX. It may do OK eventually, but that trade has been very disappointing.
November 26, 2003
Lots of good economic news today. But the market took a dip and gold shot briefly up to $400.00 when there was some unexplained smell in the NYC subway. However it was not a terrorist act, and so gold sold off a bit (but still closed up) and the market recovered. Everything I own went up today. Very nice.

Happy Thanksgiving

The Democrats will find some way to criticize the trip, of course. I remember how they criticized his trip to the aircraft carrier. They have said nothing constructive for some time.
