Another Pets Warehouse UNsatisfied customer (long)

Well, Dan's not the only one they got.  Normally, I hate to vent, but it's
neccessary in this case.
   I ordered several plants from Pets Warehouse back on 4/4/01, and I was
thrilled that I'd found plants I was looking for at such a low price.
Yesterday I recieved my order (note the post date), and I've gotten over the
thrilled bit.  I'm furious now.
   I ordered 5 items. They supposedly run a 20% off special when you order
from thier list of "immediately shippable plants".  Nope.  Obviously no
immediate shipment, and no 20% discount.  Never happened.  I guess the list
was bunk. Then two of the 3 items that I was most interested in were never
shipped.  I waited patiently for well over a month to get them (and turned
down several what I now know to be better offers) only not to get my plants.
The "filler" plants (the ones I ordered to make the minimum purchase amount)
of course arrived, which leads me to my next gripe. Back when I'd ordered, I
sent them several e-mails trying to clarify what the company ment by "12 lot
price", and talked to them on the phone on several occasions.  I guess I
should have sent more e-mails and called more, because the dinky portions of
marsilea and dwarf sag I got aren't anywhere near what I thought I'd get.
Not only that, but I coulda gotten MORE plants for the money at PETSMART!
What they call a 12 lot is actually more like 1 lot.  No deal here except a
bad one!  I think the reason I didn't get my crypts and Windelovs was
because the bull biscuits about "12 lot price"  would have been laid bare.
I believe they call that deceptive advertising.  Or bait-and-switch.  Take
your pick.
   And what REALLY sets me off is a $25.25 charge to get them to me! Thats
more money than the @#!! order itself!!!!!! When I had ordered it they had
said $7.50! What's up with that?  More profit, I assume.  In all fairness,
the anubias, even if small, was in good health an nice looking, but $40.00
was WAY too much to pay for it and the smaller stuff!!!!
   After I had gotten calmed down a bit, I e-mailed and called them to let
them know they had made me VERY unhappy.  I got the too-bad-so-sad routine.
Off I went again.
   I had gotten together with one of my friends, and we were going to split
what was in the order to get both our tanks going. I talked them up quite a
bit to him and quite a few others.  Now I look like an a$$.  Oh Joy.  Like I
needed help.
So be warned!  Stay away from them!
